News: Man fatally struck by Brightline train on railroad tracks in Lantana
LANTANA, FL – Investigators were at the scene of a fatal railroad accident in Palm Beach County on Saturday afternoon, reports WPBF.
According to Lantana police, a man was struck and killed by a Brightline train south of the railroad crossing at S. Dixie Highway and Central Boulevard. The victim, who was not identified, was reportedly trying to run across the railroad tracks at about 2 p.m. when he was hit by a train heading south.
Following the latest in a series of fatal incidents recently involving Brightline trains, officials issued another reminder to stay away from the tracks when red lights are flashing and crossing arms are down.
