News: Man charged in South Bay crash that killed 86-year-old motorcyclist
SOUTH BAY, FL – A driver has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of an elderly motorcyclist in Palm Beach County.
According to WPEC, the incident took place Sunday on U.S. 27 in South Bay.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said 41-year-old Henry Bailey of Big Pine Key was behind the wheel of a van when he pulled out of a driveway and entered the path of a motorcycle, causing a crash.
86-year-old motorcyclist Karl Sickle was pronounced dead at the scene while his passenger, 82-year-old Phyllis Ernst, was seriously injured. Both are from Homestead.
Bailey was apprehended near the scene of the crash and taken into custody. He faces several charges, including vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run crash involving death.
