News: Man charged in crash that killed 2 people n West Palm Beach
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Authorities say a man is now facing criminal charges in connection with a deadly crash in West Palm Beach last summer, according to WPEC.
Police said 30-year-old Travon Mitchell was driving a Nissan Frontier when he ran a red light in the area of Belvedere Road and Australian Avenue on July 13, 2020. He crashed into the passenger side of a Honda Civi, killing two people inside. The victims were the driver, 18-year-old Alejandro Garcia Suarez, and a passenger, 46-year-old Mena Canto.
Mitchell has been charged with two counts of DUI manslaughter and two counts of driving without a license in a crash causing injury or death.
Mitchell, who was hospitalized following the collision, made a court appearance in the case last Thursday morning.
