News: Hit-and-run driver sought in death of pedestrian in North Lauderdale
NORTH LAUDERDALE, FL – A search is underway for a driver who fled the scene after a crash that killed a woman in North Lauderdale Tuesday night, according to WSVN.
The victim was identified by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office as 66-year-old Rose Clark. Investigators said Clark had just gotten off a bus and was walking across State Road 7 near McNab Road when she was struck at about 8:20 p.m.
Clark was hit first by one driver who left the area, then again by a second car, but the second driver stayed at the scene to try to help and cooperated with investigators.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are now trying to track down the hit-and-run vehicle, which was described as a white 2018 Kia Optima. A rear-view mirror from the car’s passenger side was recovered.
