News: Hit-and-run accident in Pompano Beach kills pedestrian
POMPANO BEACH, FL – The Broward Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident in Pompano Beach that happened early Sunday morning.
According to NBC Miami, sheriff’s deputies and rescue crews responded to the scene in the area of Northwest 22nd Street and North Powerline Road after being notified of the crash at about 2 a.m.
Investigators said a woman was hit by a vehicle in the northbound lanes of North Powerline Road and was found unresponsive. She was pronounced dead after being taken to Broward Health North.
Authorities are now trying to track down the vehicle and driver involved. Anyone with information about the case was asked to contact Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives or Crime Stoppers.
