News: Head-on collision in Boynton Beach leaves 1 dead, 2 critically injured
BOYNTON BEACH, FL – A fatal head-on collision occurred in Palm Beach County Saturday afternoon, according to WPTV.
Authorities said the driver of a BMW X3 went over a center median while going north on S. Military Trail in Boynton Beach just before 3:30 p.m. The vehicle entered the path of a Toyota Tundra and the vehicles collided.
A passenger in the back seat of the Tundra was pronounced dead at the scene, and was identified as 20-year-old Carly Richards.
The Tundra driver, 52-year-old Paul Richards, and a front-seat passenger, 49-year-old Melissa Richards, were taken to Delray Medical Center with critical injuries.
The BMW driver escaped with minor injuries. Three children were in the BMW, but no details were available on whether they were hurt.
Drugs or alcohol were not contributing factors in the accident, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.
