News: Fort Lauderdale man dies after being hit by car in Oakland Park
OAKLAND PARK, FL – The Broward County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident in Oakland Park Saturday night.
The sheriff’s office issued a press release regarding the incident in the area of Northwest 31st Avenue and Northwest 39th Street.
Traffic homicide detectives said 68-year-old Otis Wright of Fort Lauderdale was trying to cross the roadway at about 8 p.m. when he stepped into the path of a 2004 Toyota Camry.
Wright was hit by the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, 70-year-old Margaret Hawkins of Lauderhill, stayed at the scene and cooperated with detectives.
