News: Fort Lauderdale crash injures, 2, including Florida Highway Patrol trooper
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – A crash in Fort Lauderdale Thursday morning left two people injured, including a Florida Highway Patrol trooper.
According to WPLG, the trooper was involved in a collision with another vehicle on Interstate 95 north near State Road 84 at about 5 a.m.
The trooper and the other driver were hospitalized, but their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Three lanes of the interstate were shut down while the scene was being cleared and only one lane was getting by, causing major backups through the area during rush hour. Drivers were advised to avoid I-95 and take Florida’s Turnpike or U.S. 441 as alternate routes.
