News: Elderly woman fatally struck by transit bus in downtown Miami
MIAMI, FL – An elderly woman died after an accident involving a bus in Miami on Monday morning, reports CBS Miami.
Police said the 72-year-old victim was walking at the intersection of SW 1st Street and SW 2nd Avenue when she was hit by a Metro-Dade public transit bus making a left turn onto SW 1 Street. The woman was walking in the crosswalk at the time she was hit, according to investigators. She was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
Miami-Dade police are investigating the collision, and are hoping footage from nearby surveillance cameras will provide more evidence about what happened.
