News: Elderly pedestrian struck, killed by SUV at Miami-Dade intersection
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred Monday morning in southwest Miami-Dade.
According to WPLG, the incident occurred in the area of Quail Roost Drive and Southwest 117th Avenue, and was reported at about 5:40 a.m.
Authorities said a pedestrian was struck while crossing at the intersection by a woman driving a Hyundai SUV north on Southwest 117th Avenue. The elderly victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released.
The report cited an eyewitness account that the driver involved initially fled the scene of the crash and later returned. That information was yet to be confirmed by Miam-Dade police.
