News: Driver sought in hit-and-run that killed Hialeah Hospital worker
HIALEAH, FL – Police and family members are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver who struck and killed a Hialeah Hospital worker last month, reports CBS Miami.
The incident occurred January 25 in the vicinity of East 21st Street and 8th Avenue just after 9 p.m. Authorities said Leonardo Gil Fraga was on the way home from work on his motorcycle when he was hit by an SUV or a minivan and suffered fatal injuries.
The driver of the vehicle stopped briefly before fleeing the scene heading east on East 21st Street, according to police.
Fraga’s family issued a public plea for anyone with information about what happened to come forward. Police said they have been pursuing leads and searching for evidence but also urged the public to provide any additional help in finding the driver.
The vehicle being sought was described as a dark-colored vehicle with damage to its right side. Anyone with any information about the case was asked to contact Hialeah police.
