News: Driver seriously injured when SUV crashes in Wilton Manors
BROWARD COUNTY, FL – A driver was seriously injured when an SUV crashed in Broward County Sunday morning, WPLG reports.
Police say the driver was behind the wheel of a Ford Expedition that was speeding south on Dixie Highway. The vehicle slammed into a pole at the Five Points intersection of Wilton Drive and NE 26th Street. The pole then fell and hit a Wells Fargo bank. Inspectors were sent to the scene to evaluate the building’s structural integrity.
The driver, whose identity was not released, was transported to an area hospital. No one else was in the vehicle.
The crash scattered pieces of the vehicle throughout the area. An investigation is underway into the cause of the incident.
