News: Driver runs stop sign and hits girl riding bicycle, Pembroke Pines police say
PEMBROKE PINES, FL – A girl riding her bicycle was struck by an SUV in Pembroke Pines Thursday afternoon, reports WPLG.
The child was riding outside Lakeside Elementary School in the area of Northwest 136th Avenue and Northwest 10th Street when the accident occurred at about 2 p.m. Pembroke Pines police said she was hit by a driver who ran a stop sign at the intersection of Northwest 10th Street and 136th Avenue and then struck a tree.
The girl was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital with injuries that were reported to be life-threatening. The driver stayed at the scene after the collision and then was transported to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
