News: Driver killed after losing control, crashing into water in SW Miami-Dade
MIAM-DADE COUNTY, FL – A woman died after losing control of her vehicle on Florida’s Turnpike in southwest Miami-Dade County Sunday morning, WPLG reports.
The accident happened Sunday morning as the driver was headed south on the turnpike near Southwest 254th Street.
Her vehicle crashed through a grassy area and then plunged into a 30-foot deep body of water. Divers went into the water to rescue the woman and attempted to perform life-saving measures, but she was pronounced dead after being taken to Jackson South Medical Center. The victim’s identity was not released.
No one else was in the vehicle at the time. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
