News: Driver investigated for possible DUI after deadly crash on West Broward Boulevard
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Police in Fort Lauderdale are trying to determine whether drunk driving contributed to a deadly car accident early Wednesday morning.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports two cars, apparently a Honda CR-V and a black sedan, were involved in the wreck on West Broward Boulevard near Northwest 15th Avenue at about 3:50 a.m.
Four people were transported to Broward Health Medical Center, where one man was pronounced dead. Two people were seriously injured and one sustained minor injuries.
Police are investigating whether one of the drivers involved in the crash was driving under the influence.
The westbound lanes of West Broward Boulevard were closed from the 1100 block to the 1800 block while police were on the scene.
Those who drive under the influence pose a major risk to themselves and others on the road.
