News: Driver hospitalized after Brightline train hits car in Oakland Park
OAKLAND PARK, FL – Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and rescue crews were at the scene of a railroad accident in Oakland Park Wednesday morning.
According to NBC Miami, a car was hit by a Brightline train in the 3400 block of North Dixie Highway at about 9:45 a.m.
Brightline officials said the driver went around gates at the railroad crossing that were down at the time, leading to the collision.
The driver was taken to an area hospital, but no details were released on the person’s condition.
It was the latest in a series of accidents involving Brightline trains in recent months.
