News: Driver flees scene after woman fatally struck in SW Miami-Dade
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – Authorities continue the search for the driver responsible for the death of a pedestrian in Southwest Miami-Dade late last week.
According to WSVN, a woman was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of U.S. 1 near Southwest 139th Avenue last Friday when she was hit by a car at about 4 a.m. The woman, whose identity was not released, was declared dead at the scene.
The driver kept going after the crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
U.S. 1 was closed to traffic in the area while authorities investigated the hit-and-run.
Anyone with information about the incident was asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers.
