News: Driver dies in multi-vehicle wreck at Miami-Dade intersection
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a motorist was killed in a multi-vehicle accident in west Miami-Dade County Monday morning.
According to WPLG, three vehicles were involved in the incident at Southwest 8th Street and Southwest 137th Avenue.
The FHP said the driver of a Cadillac sedan failed to stop at a flashing red light while approaching the intersection on Southwest 137th Avenue. The sedan collided with a Nissan sedan and a van that were both going west on Southwest 8th Street.
The impact sent the Cadillac into a concrete utility pole, and the driver was pronounced dead after being taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center. There was no word on whether anyone else was injured.
Southwest 8th Street was closed for the crash investigation.
