News: Driver dies after car slams into Duffy’s Tavern in SW Miami-Dade
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL – A driver died after a collision that sent their car crashing into a Southwest Miami-Dade restaurant Saturday morning.
According to WPLG, a Corvette collided with a van near Southwest 57th Avenue at about 7 a.m. The impact caused the van to flip over and sent the Corvette into a side wall at Duffy’s Tavern Sports Grill, where the car caught fire.
The driver of the Corvette, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the van was not seriously injured. He told a reporter he was trying to make a left turn when his vehicle was hit by the Corvette. There were no reports of any injuries inside the restaurant.
