News: Driver charged with leaving scene after hitting pedestrian in Palm Beach County
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL – A driver was arrested following a fatal pedestrian accident in Palm Beach County Friday, reports WPEC.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said 52-year-old Lesly Ulysse was hit by a BMW while crossing the street in the vicinity of Lantana Road and South Jog Road, and died at the scene.
Investigators said the driver of the BMW, 25-year-old Christiano Philip Wyndham Castronova, fled the scene after the accident but was located Friday at 6:43 p.m. and was arrested.
Castronova is charged with leaving the scene of a crash causing death and attempting to flee law enforcement.
According to the arrest report, Ulysse was not using a designated crosswalk while trying to cross the street and violated Castronova’s right of way.
