News: Driver charged with fleeing scene of fatal pedestrian accident in Pompano Beach
POMPANO BEACH, FL – A driver was arrested after authorities said she struck and killed a pedestrian in Pompano Beach and fled the scene.
In a news release, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office identified the driver as 27-year-old Corshana Hatter of Hollywood. Detectives said she hit a pedestrian in the southbound lanes of Northwest 31st Avenue Friday night shortly after 10 p.m., and then fled from the area heading south. The pedestrian died at the scene.
A short time later, a crash was reported at the intersection of Northwest 10th Court and Northwest 23rd Terrace in Pompano Beach. Investigators determined that one of the vehicles matched the description of the one involved in the fatal hit-and-run.
Hatter was subsequently arrested on multiple charges, including DUI, leaving the scene of a crash involving death, and failure to register a vehicle.
