News: Detectives investigating death of pedestrian in Wilton Manors crash
WILTON MANORS, FL – Homicide detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal pedestrian crash.
In a news release, the sheriff’s office said it was notified on Dec. 29 that the victim had died of injuries sustained in the June 22, 2021 incident on Northeast 15th Avenue in Wilton Manors.
Investigators say the pedestrian was walking northbound in the bicycle lane shortly after 6:30 a.m. when he was struck from behind by a Ford Focus being driven in the designated traffic lane by 33-year-old Mark Horton of Broward County.
Horton stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
