News: Deadly motorcycle accident in Deerfield Beach under investigation
DEERFIELD BEACH, FL – Detectives are investigating a motorcycle accident that killed a rider in Deerfield Beach earlier this month.
In a news release, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as 58-year-old Andre Garcia of Deerfield Beach. The crash took place near the 1700 block of Northwest Second Street on April 6 at about 4:30 p.m.
Investigators said Garcia was riding a Triumph Rocket 3 motorcycle when he tried to make a turn from North Military Trail onto Northwest Second Street. He lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected from the bike. Garcia was severely injured and was rushed to Broward Health North, where he passed away from his injuries on April 19.
Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the fatal wreck. They do not believe that excessive speed or impairment were factors in the incident.
