News: Construction truck plunges into Hillsboro Canal, killing driver
PARKLAND, FL – Authorities said the driver of a construction truck died in an accident in Parkland Monday morning.
According to WSVN, rescuers responded to the Hillsboro Canal in the area of Loxahatchee Road and Solstice Circle after the vehicle landed in the water and became submerged shortly after 10:30 a.m.
Broward Sheriff’s Office divers and Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Rescue teams attempted to save the driver but were unsuccessful.
The man’s body was pulled from the water about two hours after the accident occurred. His identity was not immediately released.
The incident is under investigation by traffic homicide detectives with the sheriff’s office.
