News: Collision between vehicles in Oakland Park kills 1, injures 3
OAKLAND PARK, FL – One person died and three others were injured following a collision at an intersection in Oakland Park last week, authorities said.
According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened Friday evening at East Commercial Boulevard and Northeast 15th Avenue.
Investigators said a man was driving a BMW 330i west on East Commercial Boulevard at about 5:40 p.m. when he prepared to turn south onto Northeast 15th Avenue.
As he turned, the passenger side of the BMW was struck by an eastbound Porsche Taycan 4s in a T-bone style collision. The impact caused the BMW to hit a light pole before coming to rest on the sidewalk and roadway.
The driver of the Porsche and the driver and two passengers in the BMW were taken to area hospitals. One of the passengers, a woman, was pronounced dead.
The sheriff’s office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
