News: Car crash on I-95 north leaves woman, child hospitalized
FELLSMERE, FL – A car accident in Indian River County sent a young woman and a child to the hospital on Wednesday, reports WPTV.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the crash on Interstate 95 north near County Road 512 in Fellsmere. State troopers said a 21-year-old woman lost control while driving an ES 350 Lexus at about 2:15 p.m. After swerving to the right, the vehicle rolled over and came to rest on its roof.
The driver, a Philadelphia resident, was seriously injured and taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center. A 2-year-old child who was in the vehicle with her was flown to St. Mary’s Medical Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The northbound lanes on I-95 were shut down after the accident while crews responded before reopening at 3:35 p.m.
