News: Boater killed when vessel crashes into dock on Intracoastal Waterway
HIGHLAND BEACH, FL – Officials said a boater was killed in an accident that occurred Saturday on the Intracoastal Waterway.
WPTV reports a man was operating a 25-foot center console vessel headed north in the area of Highland Beach when he lost control after encountering a wake.
The boat crashed into a dock near 3310 Ocean Drive. The boat operator was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 63-year-old Richard Patrick Mineo.
Two minors who were on the boat were injured and transported to Delray Beach Medical Center.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the cause of the accident.
