News: Bicyclist hospitalized after being struck by SUV in Delray Beach
DELRAY BEACH, FL – Police in Delray Beach are searching for the driver who struck a bicyclist and left the scene Thursday night.
The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports the victim was riding his bicycle on Germantown Road near Homewood Boulevard when he was struck by an SUV at about 6:30 p.m.
The rider, believed to be a man in his 70s, was transported to a hospital and listed in critical condition.
Police are searching for the vehicle involved in the incident, a gray newer model Jeep Grand Cherokee with damage to the front end on the driver’s side.
Authorities shut down a portion of Germantown Road for the crash investigation. Anyone with information was asked to contact Delray Beach Police.
