News: Authorities searching for driver who left scene after hitting pedestrian in Palm Beach County
LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL – Authorities are searching for the driver responsible for the death of a pedestrian in Palm Beach County Saturday morning.
According to WPTV, the incident happened on South Dixie Highway near 10th Avenue South in Lake Worth Beach at 11:25 a.m.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said a man was walking eastbound when he entered the path of a pickup truck headed north on South Dixie Highway. The driver was unable to stop in time and hit the pedestrian, who was pronounced dead after being taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center. The victim was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash, investigators said.
The driver kept going after the crash and was last seen going north.
Investigators said the vehicle they are looking for might be a black Dodge Ram truck with fog lights. Anyone with information regarding the incident was asked to contact Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers.
