News: 74-year-old bicyclist dies in hit-and-run crash outside Palm Beach County church
LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL – A bicyclist died in a hit-and-run crash outside a church in Palm Beach County, authorities said.
According to WPTV, the incident occurred Friday afternoon near United Methodist Church in the area of Cochran Drive and 12th Avenue.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said the driver of a Toyota Matrix was speeding and drove off the road at about 2 p.m., hitting 74-year-old Jim Beloian of Lake Worth Beach while he was on his bicycle.
Investigators said the driver of the vehicle and a passenger fled the scene on foot following the incident. Two other passengers in the Matrix, both teenagers, told deputies they could not identify the driver.
