News: 2 workers dead in crane accident at Boynton Beach construction site
BOYNTON BEACH, FL – An investigation is underway into a crane accident in Boynton Beach Tuesday morning that left two workers dead, WPTV reports.
The incident took place at a construction site at the Riverwalk Plaza at East Woolbright Road and Federal Highway, shortly before 10:30 a.m.
The construction workers who were killed were identified as 32-year-old Jeremias Mendez and 25-year-old Eduardo Cruz-Moran, both residents of West Palm Beach.
Police and first responders were at the scene as authorities searched to make sure no one else was trapped in the rubble at the site, where waterfront apartments are to be built.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was reported to have begun an inspection into the incident.
