News: 2 people killed when car slams into light pole in Miami-Dade County
MIAMI, FL – A car accident in Miami-Dade County early Sunday morning left two people dead and three injured, according to WPLG.
Police arrived at the scene in the area of West Flagler Street and 48th Avenue after the crash occurred at about 3:10 a.m.
Investigators said the driver of a Kia Forte lost control of the vehicle while headed west. The car crashed into a light pole and came to rest at a nearby gas station.
Two people were thrown from the car, and were pronounced dead at the scene. The three other people inside the vehicle were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Two were listed in critical condition, while the other person’s injuries were not life-threatening.
Miami police are trying to determine what caused the wreck.
