News: 2 hospitalized, including police officer, following Miami collision
MIAMI, FL – A collision in Miami Tuesday afternoon left a police officer and one other person hospitalized, reports WSVN.
Miami police said undercover detectives attempted to stop a car in the area of Northwest 13th Avenue and Northwest 61st Street when the driver took off and collided with a marked police vehicle a few blocks away. Another vehicle also hit the patrol car.
Security camera footage from the area seemed to indicate that one of the cars went through a red light, according to the report.
The police officer and the other injured victim were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, but no details were released on their conditions.
The driver of the car that hit the patrol vehicle and a passenger tried to get away on foot but were later taken into custody.
