News: 2 dead, 10 missing after boat capsizes near the Florida Keys
KEY WEST, FL – The U.S. Coast Guard says at least two people have died following a boat accident near the Florida Keys on Wednesday night.
NBC Miami reports a search continues for ten people who are still missing after the incident. A boat that left Puerto de Mariel, Cuba Sunday was reported to have capsized on Wednesday evening.
Coast Guard crews arrived at the scene several miles off Key West Thursday at about 1 p.m. and recovered the bodies of the two victims from the water. Eight other people were rescued. The boat has yet to be located.
A search of the area by two Coast Guard cutters and several small boats was ongoing Thursday night about 15 miles south of Key West.
