News: 2 arrested in hit-and-run death of worker in Pompano Beach
POMPANO BEACH, FL – Two people are under arrest after a man was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Pompano Beach Thursday morning, reports NBC Miami.
This is an update to a previous story.
The victim, a 37-year-old construction worker, was struck by a Chevy Cruze at about 6:30 a.m. while fixing a sign in the northbound express lanes of Interstate 95 near Sample Road.
Fort Lauderdale Police located the vehicle involved at a Days Inn on West Broward Boulevard, where a man and a woman were taken into custody. Their names were not immediately released.
Officials said the victim was a subcontractor for the Florida Department of Transportation.
The incident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
