News: 1 driver killed, 1 injured in collision on I-95 in Boynton Beach
BOYNTON BEACH, FL – One driver was killed and another injured in a collision on Interstate 95 in Palm Beach County early Friday morning, reports WPTV.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a Mercedes coupe crashed into the back of a Lexus SUV on I-95 south near Hypoluxo Road in Boynton Beach at about 4:30 a.m., causing both vehicles to overturn.
The Mercedes driver, a 46-year-old man from Lake Worth, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene. The Lexus driver, a 52-year-old man from Greenacres, suffered injuries that were described as non-incapacitating. A passenger in the Lexus was not hurt.
The southbound lanes of I-95 were closed for over five hours after the crash, causing major traffic delays.
