News: 1 dead, 7 injured after vehicles collide at Coconut Creek intersection
COCONUT CREEK, FL – A car accident in Broward County Sunday evening left one person dead and seven others injured, CBS Miami reports.
Police said a Nissan collided with a Hyundai SUV at the intersection of Sample Road and NW 42nd Avenue in Coconut Creek at about 6:45 p.m.
Six teenagers were in the Nissan. One of them, a 16-year-old girl from Pompano Beach, was killed. The five others were sent to area hospitals. Two adults in the SUV, a 54-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, also were hospitalized. No details were released on the severity of the injuries.
Sample Road was shut down in both directions through the area for hours while the wreck was under investigation.
