News: 1 dead, 4 injured in car accident on Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach
WEST PALM BEACH, FL – A collision in Palm Beach County last weekend killed a teenage driver, the Palm Beach Post reports.
The accident occurred Saturday night in the vicinity of Southern Boulevard and Avacado Avenue in the West Palm Beach area at about 11:25 p.m. Authorities said a 17-year-old male was driving a Toyota Avalon eastbound on Southern Boulevard when the vehicle crossed three travel lanes, went into the center median and hit a tree. The Avalon then rotated into the westbound lanes, where it was struck by a Toyota 4Runner SUV.
The 17-year-old, a Greenacres-area resident, was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Two passengers in his sedan were hospitalized with critical injuries.
The driver of the 4Runner and a passenger were seriously injured and taken to Delray Medical Center. They are Lake Worth Beach residents.
There was no immediate indication of whether any charges would be filed in the wreck.
