Multiple People Die Diving in South Florida During Lobster Season
Multiple people died while diving in South Florida this week, during a busy lobster season.
WSVN.com reports that the first victim drowned in Monroe County while diving for lobsters at about 7:00 a.m. off Sawyer Key.
The second victim was diving in the Florida Keys when a boat propeller ran him over.
The third victim was reportedly diving in Pompano Beach in the area of 11th and North Ocean Boulevard when he suddenly went into cardiac arrest.
The report indicates that many people are taking to the waters this lobster season, hoping to get their share of the season’s haul.
“It was excellent, we went out early in the morning, we were probably in the water at 6:45 [a.m.], soon as the light came out, and as soon as we got in the water, we were catching them,” said one person as quoted by the report.
