Migrant Boat Slams into Seawall in Pompano Beach
A boat carrying migrants slammed into a seawall on Thursday.
SunSentinel.com reports that the motorboat crashed into the seawall in Pompano Beach on Thursday at about 8:45 a.m. in the vicinity of Southeast 28th Avenue and Atlantic Boulevard.
Apparently, as the boat arrived in the United States with migrants fleeing violence in Jamaica, the vessel crashed into a seawall while fleeing from authorities.
A witness expressed “Did you see that? This is some ‘Grand Theft Auto’ [expletive] right here,” while another said that “A sheriff boat came out real quick, [and the other boat] crash-landed … into the wall.”
The report does not indicate if anyone was injured in the crash.
