Miami Herald: Two Dead Following Serious Boat Crash at Miami Beach
The Miami Herald reports that two people have been pronounced dead after being involved in a boat crash at Miami Beach. A spokesperson for the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission says that a third person was rescued and taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition. A fourth person is still missing.
Authorities say that the incident is being treated as a possible homicide.
The crash occurred on the Government Cut’s north jetty, and sent the boat tumbling. The jetty is near the south end of Miami Beach and is in the same area as the site where MLB pitcher Jose Fernandez died several years ago.
