KIA Announces Recall of Thousands of Vehicles Due To Engine Fire Threat
Kia is announcing the recall of thousands of vehicles due to an engine fire threat.
The company is recalling the automobiles due to a suspected problem with their fuel pumps. Reports indicate the affected models include:
50,000 Optimas
17,000 Sorentos
1,000 Sportages
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSB) is responsible for approving automobile recalls. Due to the ongoing government shutdown, the NHTSB is not currently able to process recall.
Once the NHTSB is back fully functioning the recall can be made official.
