Key Biscayne Boat Crash Leaves 1 Missing and 4 Hospitalized
A boat crash off Key Biscayne Monday night left one man missing and four others hospitalized.
NBCMiami.com reports that the crash occurred at about 7:22 p.m. when two boats collided in the vicinity of Bear Cut Bridge. City of Miami Fire Rescue Lt. Pete Sanchez says that one of the boats had seven people aboard and the other had just one person aboard. The missing man was reportedly riding in the boat with the group when he was ejected from the vessel in the crash.
Authorities, including more than 18 divers with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, and the U.S. Coast Guard searched the area of the man’s disappearance but were not able to find his body. He is now presumed dead.
The four injured victims reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
