Florida Man Missing After Going Fishing In Local Fishing Canal
Authorities continue to search for a Tampa man who went missing while fishing in a local fishing canal.
WFLA.com reports that the missing man’s family says that his name is Eugene Wilson. A member of Wilson’s family reportedly dropped him off at Bypass Canal on Saturday night, but after not hearing from him several hours later Wilson’s family contacted police.
At about 4:00 a.m. deputies began to search for Wilson in the area of US-301 and Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard. During the search, the deputies reportedly found a capsized boat and fishing gear.
In a statement, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said “An extensive search is underway to try and find this fisherman who went out for the evening, as his family says he normally does.”
As of now, the investigators have indicated that they have not found any signs of foul play.
