When Sheriff’s deputies with the Pinellas County Marine Unit arrived on the scene, they reportedly found Rae’s boat approximately 75 feet from the water. Though neither Rae nor the passenger suffered any injuries, they were both showing signs of impairment, the report states.
After failing a field sobriety test the deputies arrested Rae and booked him on one count of boating under the influence.
Rae was already known to authorities as someone who allegedly took part in the January 6 Capitol Hill riots, and was on supervised release from federal custody when he crashed his boat on Saturday.
