Florida #1 In Nation In Pedestrian Deaths
A recent study finds that Florida has the nation’s highest pedestrian death rate.
In addition to the startling news that Florida tops the nation in pedestrian deaths, the report found that the state’s pedestrian death rate increased 35 percent between 2008 and 2017.
The National Complete Streets Coalition reports places Orlando-Kissimmee at number one nationally for pedestrian deaths, while Miami-Ft. Lauderdale ranked number 14. The South Florida region saw 1,549 pedestrian deaths between 2008 and 2017.
