Family of Alexa Duran Set to File Suit After Her FIU Bridge Collapse Death
The family of a Florida State University Student has announced a lawsuit, following her death in last month’s tragic bridge collapse.
18-year-old Alexa Duran was riding in the car with a friend when the two passed under the newly constructed bridge at FIU. The structure suddenly collapsed on top of them, killing Duran and injuring her friend, 19-year-old Richard Humble. Humble has already announced that he intends to sue those who designed and constructed the bridge.
According to a report by Local10.com, Alexa Duran’s parents announced that they would be filing suit as well. The anticipated suit is set to be the ninth filed as a result of the tragedy.
