Elderly Person In Golf Cart Killed In Ft. Myers Crash
An elderly person was killed in a crash involving a golf cart and a vehicle in Fort Myers Monday.
WinkNews.com reports that the 86-year-old victim was driving a golf cart in the vicinity of US-41 in front of the Tamiami Village & RV Park when a 20-year-old woman was driving a vehicle and collided with the victim.
The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the victim was driving eastbound on Leesure Ln. toward US-41 and the vehicle was going southbound on US-41 toward the intersection when the golf cart apparently crossed in front of the vehicle.
The front of the vehicle struck the side of the golf cart, resulting in fatal injuries to the cart’s driver. The vehicle’s driver suffered minor only injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
