Defective Hyundai Catches Fire – Torching Her Home
A serious car fire put the home of a central Florida woman in jeopardy early last month.
WESH.com reports that the vehicle in question, a 2015 Hyundai Tucson, was included in an auto recall. But the recall notification arrived to the home of Titusville resident Susan Sherrer a month too late. On January 4 her vehicle caught fire.
The car fire set the home on fire as well, causing Sherrer to flee for her life. “I heard a big bang! I smelled smoke. And I just went and looked. And my car is on fire!” she said to a 911 operator.
According to the report, Kia and Hyundai recalled 484,577 vehicles last month for a defect that can cause vehicles to catch fire.
