Cruise Ship Turns Back to Port After Losing Power
Various news outlets are reporting that a cruise ship turned back to port as it was sailing toward Ketchikan, Alaska, after the ship lost power as it headed on its way to the nation’s northernmost state.
Kiro7.com reports that the Celebrity Solstice was sailing out of Seattle, Washington when it temporarily lost electricity, steering and propulsion. Though the ship regained power after some time, it made a U-turn and headed back to port as a precaution.

According to the report the U.S. Coast Guard determined that the propulsion issues were caused when the ship’s engine misfired.
The ship returned to port at about 1:00 a.m.
